Being a near-abstractionist may limit the scope of one’s individuality, which is never the case with Pradip Das - the sheer sophistication of his works is enough to set him apart. Unseen or semi-recognisable forms, touched sometimes with sparks of reality, seem to grow and dissolve into the open canvas space like waves in and out of a tranquil sea. The artist achieves this masterly effect by means of soothing strokes with typical colours in musical harmony.
